Optometry Giving Sight Movements

After almost five years at the helm of Optometry Giving Sight in Australia, Madeleine Whiting is leaving to take up the role of Senior Relationships Manager at Monash University.

“Madeleine’s dedication and commitment has seen Optometry Giving Sight in Australia grow into a successful fundraising organisation, supported by the OAA, thousands of optometrists, their staff, students and many of the key optometric corporations and their staff,” says Bob Lees, Chair of the Optometry Giving Sight National Committee.

“I would like to join the Optometry Giving Sight team in thanking Madeleine and wishing her much success in her new role,” he adds.

Professor Brien Holden, Global CEO of Optometry Giving Sight says: “Madeleine has done an incredible job over the last five years with Optometry Giving Sight in Australia. She helped to raise (AUS)$1.5 million through the support of optometrists and industry staff and really became the face of Optometry Giving Sight.

Madeleine will be missed both by the staff at Optometry Giving Sight and by the many optometrists who she got to know over the years.” Madeleine’s successor will be announced when appointed, but meanwhile the organisation says CIBA Vision Corporate Fellow, Brian Spiller, will become the Global Marketing Manager for Optometry Giving Sight.

Colette Kinsella will work full time for Optometry Giving Sight as Business Development Manager, splitting her time between Australia and the U.S.
