Essilor Revenue Up

Essilor sustained strong growth last year, despite it being a recession year. In the Asian region Essilor reported revenue growth of 12.3 per cent. The manufacturer said performance was more than satisfactory in every country, except Japan. Growth was led in India, China and South Korea by sales of specialty lenses, such as Essilor Azio, and other new products, and lifted in Australia by strong demand for the branded offer including Varilux and Crizal. Revenue also saw sustained growth in South Africa. In 2010, the economic environment is expected to be more favourable with a progressive recovery in global activity.
