Improve Compliance It’s not uncommon that we see patients coming in thinking that they need cataract surgery because they’ve noted a reduction in their vision over the last several years. And even though they may have a cataract, it is not uncommon that when we look at their retina we’ll notice that there is some foveal anatomy or some macular disturbance that we think may be, for example, an epiretinal membrane.
The Cirrus HD‑OCT gives us a rapid test that we can use and identify this pathology, show the patient what’s going on and, if appropriate, refer them for retinal evaluation and possible retinal surgery if that’s what’s indicated.
