ODMA 2011, Australia’s premier event for the optical industry, is off to a flying start with more than 80 per cent of exhibition sites snapped up within a week of release. With new bookings flowing through daily, the event is expected to be a sell-out – the exhibitor list set to peak at 135 companies.
Manufacturers and distributors are showing overwhelming support for next year’s ODMA from 5 to 7 August 2011, with confirmed bookings received from more than 76 companies, including BOC, Bolle, Briot-Weco, Carl Zeiss, Essilor, European Eyewear, Eyes Right, General Optical, Healy, Hoya, L’Amy, Luxol, Mimo, Optical Manufacturers, Opticare, Rodenstock, Safilo, Shamir, Transitions, VMD and Younger Optics.
Visitors will also enjoy new extended displays from the likes of Frames Etcetera, Eyecare Plus, Mod-Style, My Optics, Eurostyle, Medmont, ProVision, Tam Tam, Insight Optics and Van Staveren. Early indications leave no doubt that ODMA 2011 will also be the place to see the new names to break into the industry.
ODMA 2011 is set to retain its position as Australia’s premier optical industry gathering. It will be staged with a new look in a new August timeframe, a new two-hall format and hosting a new style education programme in collaboration with the Contact Lens Industry Council.

ODMA 2011 will also offer extended attractions, including the debut of the ODMA Excellence Awards, 2011 Boot Camp and the ODMA loyalty program, the details of which will soon be released.
To complete the line up, 2011 will also see the continued co-location in Sydney of the ACBO National Vision Conference.
Optical Manufacturers & Distributors Association Chairman Richard Grills, explained that the Board felt it imperative that the ODMA tradeshow continued to evolve to ensure that it remains a dynamic, relevant showcase of the industry.
“Which is why, in 2011, ODMA will feature a wide range of new initiatives,” he says.
“We have listened to independent practitioners and planned an event which will enhance the experience of exhibitors and visitors, making it a meaningful experience on every level. ODMA 2011 will offer unlimited business opportunities, a genuine networking platform, a unique education program and terrific avenues for socialising. In every aspect, our endeavour is to present an event that will continue to unite our industry.”
