BCLA Call for Submissions

The British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) is calling for submissions of papers and posters for its prestigious annual Clinical Conference, to be held in Manchester, in the United Kingdom, in May 2011.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, 7 January 2011.

Scientific abstracts and clinical case studies will be considered on any topic related to contact lenses and/or the anterior eye, and authors can choose between ‘poster only’ and ‘poster/oral presentation’ at the point of submission.

BCLA Academic Committee Chairman, Professor Roger Buckley, said submissions will be judged for their importance, originality, quality and clarity.

Scientific abstracts and clinical case studies will be considered on any topic related to contact lenses and/or the anterior eye…

“The aim is to improve objectivity and fairness in the selection process, which will still involve a detailed discussion in each case. Our purpose, as always, is to provide Clinical Conference delegates with the most topical, interesting and helpful oral presentations and posters, and to build on the exceptionally high standards achieved in the past.

“Your submissions could make the 2011 Clinical Conference the best yet,” he said.

All subject matter should be topical and include original data.

The BCLA is also calling for entries to its photographic competition, which takes place at the Clinical Conference. The closing date for electronic entries is Friday, 15 April 2011.

The 35th BCLA Clinical Conference and Exhibition will be held from 26 to 29 May 2011. For further information, visit www.bcla.org.uk or email [email protected].
