ODMA 2011 will see the launch of the ODMA Awards of Excellence, aimed to reward the very best in fashion, creativity, innovation and technology.
All ODMA 2011 exhibitors will be eligible to submit entries over a range of categories, which will be reviewed by a specialist, independent judging panel.
Three finalists are then chosen to represent each of the Award categories, recognising excellence in optical frames (design/fashion), sunglasses, children’s frames, sports eyewear, lens design, lens coating, contact lenses, optical instruments, accessories and workshop (tools and equipment).
There will also be awards for best product environment at point of sale and a green environment award.
The casting of industry votes will be strictly monitored to ensure the Awards are bestowed justly and hold genuine significance, affording real prestige to the winners.
The three finalists in each category will be displayed on the official ODMA 2011 website, which will be open for online voting.
“Ultimately, the Australian optical industry will determine the award winners, with the awards set to become a key element of the event,” ODMA Executive Director Ms. Finola Carey said.
“All ODMA 2011 registrants, past visitors and other independent professionals will be provided with access to ballot forms, ensuring the widest possible coverage and level of involvement from the industry,” she said.
