Next time you’re in London, head to Conduit Street, where you’ll find Kirk Originals’ brilliant new flagship store. The brand, which counts celebrities including Elton John, Julia Roberts, and Vic Reeves as customers, launched its new store on a freezing cold evening in January.
At Kirk Originals you’ll get anything but a traditional optical retail experience. Taking its inspiration from its latest collections, Kinetic and Kinetic Solaire, the company has installed huge in-store projections that play on the themes of vision and illusion. Even from the outside, things are different. A striking display of blinking ‘lenticular’ eyes in the front window changes as shoppers pass by.
Kirk Originals flagship store is the only place in the world where consumers can find the company’s full collection. In addition, they stock an exclusive selection of frames from independent optical designers such as California’s The Leisure Society and Undostrial from Paris. For the first time, Kirk Originals will conduct eye examinations as well as prescription fittings in consulting rooms at basement level.
The store launch attracted almost 200 people including London celebs Ron Arad, Skye Edwards and Prince Cassius. Live entertainment from Dave McAlmont and The McCarricks, DJ sets and stunning projections from renowned U.K. designer Trevor Jackson kept the crowds entertained as they viewed the eyewear, displayed in a quirky gallery style throughout the store.
Jason Kirk, managing director of Kirk Originals, commented: “We are extremely proud and excited about the new Kirk Originals flagship store. We wanted to create a fashion store that excites the shopper, provides a unique experience and ensures they leave with a pair of Kirk Originals glasses that makes them look and feel fabulous.”
