The Danish beauty (of the very sexy Wicked Game video) launched the Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year (SWOTY) competition as part of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival.
In the 90s Helena Christensen was one of the top supermodels in a group which included Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.

As an ambassador for Specsavers the former Victoria’s Secret Angel will join a cast of Australian judges including Alex Perry (Designer), Grant Pearce (L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Creative Director), Leea Charlwood (Scoop Management) and Melissa Hoyer (Grazia Magazine Editor) and will personally photograph this year’s SWOTY winner in New York.
The 2011 Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition celebrates the individual style and confidence of those who wear glasses.
Ms Christensen, said she was “really excited to be a part of this year’s Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition. It’s a great initiative that gives people the chance to have fun with showing how interesting they look in their spectacles.”

The winner of the 2011 Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year will receive a return airfare and accommodation for five nights in New York, a fashion photography session with Helena Christensen, a 12 month modelling contract with Australia’s leading commercial modelling agency, Scoop Management and AUD$2,500 in spending money.
The 2011 Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year opened today (18 March) and will be open until 18 July.
