For the first time the Optical Distributors and Manufacturers Association (ODMA) will recognise and reward the very best in eyewear fashion, innovation and technology with an ‘Awards of Excellence’ presentation to be made at the ODMA exhibition in Sydney on Friday 5 August.
Every ODMA 2011 exhibitor was invited to submit entries for the Awards of Excellence over a range of 12 categories and more than 100 entries were received.
A specialist independent judging panel chaired by ODMA executive director Finola Carey and comprising Professor Fiona Stapleton, David Wilson, Darren Chun and Margaret McCann reviewed the entries in an effort to narrow each category down to just three finalists. With the quality of entries extremely high, the judges said that it was a difficult process.
