New 1 Day Acuvue Moist Series

Johnson & Johnson Vision Care has launched an extension of 1 Day Acuvue Moist contact lenses the company says has been designed to specifically meet the needs of new wearers.

“The expanded 1 Day Acuvue Moist Series with 1 Day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism offers now toric lenses in more than 1,500 parameters,” said Luke Cahill, Professional Affairs Director, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care.

“It is a great opportunity for optometrists to bring new patients to the contact lens category and therefore to grow their business.”

Indeed the company says there are more than 1 million people considering contact lenses in Australia1 and New Zealand2. According to research, 45 per cent of potential contact lens wearers need their astigmatism corrected with a cylinder of 0.753.

It is a great opportunity for optometrists to bring new patients to the contact lens category and therefore to grow their business…

There has been a massive growth in the daily contact lens market over the last few years and daily lenses are a great option for new wearers coming to the category. By introducing a much broader daily range of parameters than currently available, optometrists can fit daily lenses for new patients.

Mr. Cahill said the expanded daily lens series provides “a comfortable and affordable alternative” to patients who currently wear spectacles or spherical lenses that mask their astigmatism.

“Prior to expanding the 1 Day Acuvue Moist Series with the toric option, we investigated the optometrists needs related to new wearers and found they were looking for comfortable lenses that provided excellent vision.

We are confident that optometrists will be excited about this launch. Moist lenses provide excellent all day comfort thanks to the LACREON technology that locks in moisture to the lens matrix. In addition 1 Day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism delivers stable vision as a result of a unique stabilization design (Accelerated Stabilization Design),” said Mr. Cahill.
