The Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia will host the 2012 International Cornea and Contact Lens Congress in Sydney, Australia. The biennial congress will be held 12–15 October 2012 at the Shangri-La Hotel Sydney, located in the historical precinct of The Rocks.
Following on from an outstanding event in 2010, we are pleased to be bringing together another exciting program, delivering on our commitment to the cornea and contact lens industry, to: promote research, support professional development and provide networking opportunities.
As part of the 2012 speaker line-up, we are pleased to have confirmed the following coups:
- · Jason Nichols, OD MPH PhD FAAO: Kevin McDaid Vision Source Professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry, USA
- · Jennifer P. Craig, PhD MCOptom FAAO FBCLA: Senior Lecturer in Ophthalmology at the University of Auckland, NZ
- · Professor Brien Holden: Professor of the University of NSW, CEO of the Brien Holden Vision Institute, the Vision Cooperative Research Centre and the International Centre for Eyecare Education, as well as the CEO and President of Adventus Technology Inc, AUS
More speakers will be announced closer to the date.
The Shangri-La Hotel is the primary venue for the conference. Just a short stroll to Circular Quay and the Sydney Opera House, and is ideally located for delegates to enjoy the city of Sydney during their stay.
Again, based on the rapturous response from 2010 Congress delegates, the Gala Dinner will be held at the Waterfront Restaurant on Saturday 13 October 2012. Delegates and their partners can look forward to another night of great food and music with breathtaking views of Sydney Harbour.
