Specsavers has opened an optometry school in the southern African nation of Zambia, where there is no public eye care system.
Opening the school, the company’s founder, Dame Mary Perkins, issued a “personal guarantee” that all of Zambia’s 12 million inhabitants would have access to eye care services by 2015.
