Registrations have opened for this year’s ‘Olympic-inspired’ British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) 36th Clinical Conference and Exhibition, with the association promising several new features for the 2012 event.
More than 60 hours of learning would be available at the conference with new clinical topics, world renowned speakers, practical tuition and the introduction of Clinical Grand Rounds, conference organisers said.
Keynote speakers include BCLA Medallist, Professor Alan Tomlinson; Irving Fatt Memorial Lecturer, Dr. Martin Cardall and Professor Richard Collin, all from the United Kingdom, and Americans Dr. Stuart Richer, Professor Mark Andre and Professor Patrick Caroline.
The conference will carry the theme ‘Competing for Excellence’, taking its inspiration from the London Olympics.

BCLA Conference Scientific Programme Consultant, Chris Kerr, said new topics under discussion at this year’s conference would include skin and lids, contact lenses and sport, anterior eye and nutrition, presbyopia and dry eye management.
