mivision has been appointed as the global social media sponsor of the 9th General Assembly of The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) to be held in Hyderabad, India from 17-20 September 2012.
The Assembly’s theme, Eye Health: Everyone’s Business will address the fact that an estimated 285 million people are blind or visually impaired worldwide and that 80 per cent of this is due to avoidable causes.
Presentations will highlight progress towards the goal of VISION 2020: The Right to Sight – IAPB’s joint initiative with the World Health Organisation for the elimination of avoidable blindness.
1,100 delegates – representatives from ophthalmology, optometry, eye care service providers and hospitals, public health policy-makers, industry and international NGOs – are expected to attend the assembly. They will be presented with a program featuring more than 150 distinguished speakers, over 30 courses, keynote lectures and symposia, and rapid fire rounds.
