Dr. Colin Chan has been appointed as Conjoint Associate Professor at the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences, University of New South Wales.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]
A/Prof. Chan is an ophthalmic surgeon at Vision Eye Institute with sub specialty interests in refractive, cataract, cornea and ocular surface disease. Since 2008 he has been closely involved with the School of Optometry through both examining and teaching Ocular Therapeutics. He does this “pro bono”. A/Prof. Chan also is involved in a number of collaborative research studies with the School on keratoconus, ectasia and dry eye.
Speaking of his appointment, A/Prof. Chan said, “My involvement with the School of Optometry is one of the most enjoyable aspects of my career. I think increased collaboration between ophthalmologists and optometrists is important for patient care, teaching and research.”
