It’s not too late to register for RANZCO’s 44th annual scientific congress, which runs from 24-28 November at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Among an impressive line-up of Australian and international experts who will deliver named lectures are Professor Mark Gillies who will present the Council lecture; Professor Brenda L Gallie who will present the Sir Normal Gregg lecture; Professor Green who will deliver the Ida Mann lecture and Professor Geoffrey Tabin who will deliver the Hollows Lecture.
There will be plenty of updates as well. Delegates will hear from Ian Murdoch on glaucoma and Professor Anthony Arnold on neuro-opthalmology. Professor Phillip J Rosenfeld will present a retina update and Dr. William Trattler will provide an update on cataract.
RANZCO Fellows who attend the RANZCO 2012 Scientific Congress will be able to claim 7 CPD points per day under Clinical Expertise level one. However the organisers warn that additional points cannot be claimed for individual events within the Congress program.
Magical Social Program
A social program will provide ample opportunities to mingle with colleagues at the welcome reception, opening ceremony and president’s reception – where members of the profession will be recognised for their contributions and achievements – and a congress dinner. The Congress Dinner, at Ormond College within the University of Melbourne, promises to be a magical night. Wood paneling, stained glass windows, vaulted ceilings, open fireplaces, beautifully carved wooden furniture and ornate chandeliers will set the scene, while guests adorned with their own touch of magic will create the enchantment. Those who forget to bring magical accessories may be able to collect one or two at the RANZCO booth, however be warned, availability is on a `best in best dressed’ basis.
