Satisloh has opened a third facility in China in an effort to expand capacity and become closer to customers. The new 2,000m2 facility is located in Danyang, Jiangsu province, at the heart of China’s ophthalmic industry, between Shanghai and Nanjing. More than 100 national and international companies are based there.
Staff members from Satisloh Asia’s sales, service and logistics teams have moved from the existing factory in Zhongshan in Guangdong/Kanton Province to the new site, which has a fully equipped lens testing facility, state of the art equipment and warehouse space with more than 3,000 spare parts and consumables.
The Danyang facility was officially opened with a traditional Chinese ceremony in late September, which was followed by Slugfest – Satisloh’s first user‘s group meeting in Asia – an educational and networking event.
There was nothing sluggish about Slugfest – guests from the local area and Asian countries attended technical and business presentations, toured Satisloh’s new facility to inspect state of the art machinery that included edging equipment, the automated OBM surfacing line for Rx-labs with high volume and the box-coater 1200-MPX.
Additionally, they took the opportunity to inspect products exhibited by companies including Crossbows Optical, Omics Software, NCC Automated Systems and LaserOp. Satisloh’s Asia headquarters is located in Hong Kong.
