BCLA 2013 Looks to Future

A dedicated business session and peer discussion groups are two innovations that the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) hopes will inspire eye care professionals when they meet at the Association’s 37th Clinical Conference and Exhibition from 6-9 June at Manchester Central.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]

BCLA President, Dr. Catharine Chisholm, said: “For more than 30 years the BCLA has been recognising and celebrating past achievements in the field of contact lenses and the anterior eye – but we must also look to the future and how we can inspire both new and existing members of the contact lens profession and industry.”

During the Conference, the 2013 BCLA Medal, Judith Morris (UK), will present ‘Two steps forward, one step back’. Dr. Mitra Tavakoli (UK) will present the Irving Fatt Memorial Lecture, ‘Corneal confocal microscopy: beyond corneal defects. Translational studies in diabetes and neurology’.

Speakers at the Clinical Conference include Dr. Florence Malet (France), ‘Management of keratoconus’; and Australia’s Associate Professor Eric Papas (Australia), ‘Through my aching eyes: reflections on the perennial problem of contact lens discomfort’.
