Start up Aussie eyewear design company, Bailey Nelson, has established two eyewear stores in just six months and is looking to grow its uber cool brand by wholesaling – as long as the right optical retailers, that fit the company’s image, come along.
Established by three young fashion industry entrepreneurs, Scott Triana, Nick Perry and Peter Winkle, the brand sells its own collection of optical and sunglasses in high fashion styles and colours, which it has manufactured in China and Korea.
“We’ve designed frames that can be sold for less than AUD$100 because our philosophy is that eyewear is a fashion statement. People should have more than one frame to choose from according to what they’re wearing, where they’re going and how they feel on the day,” said Triana. Bailey Nelson partners with Australian lens laboratories to fit prescription lenses into its frames. Sunglasses are fitted with German Category three polarised lenses.
