Professor Mo Jalie SMSA, FBDO(Hons), Hon FCGI, Hon FCOptom, MCMI will make a rare appearance in Australia to present three lectures at the Australian Vision Conference, which be held at the Gold Coast from 5-7 April.
Professor Jalie, who is recognised as an international authority on the design of spectacle lenses, will speak on progressive lenses, off axis performance of spectacle lenses, and aspheric and atoric lenses.

Professor Jalie is Visiting Professor in Optometry to the optometry course at the University of Ulster in Coleraine and to the Essilor Academy Europe (Paris). He was the Head of Department of Applied Optics at City and Islington College from 1986 to 1995 where he taught optics, ophthalmic lenses and dispensing from 1964. He has written several books including Principles of Ophthalmic Lenses, first published in 1967 and now in its fourth edition, which is recognised as a standard text on the subject. He is also the author Ophthalmic Lenses & Dispensing and of some 200 papers on ophthalmic lenses, contact lenses, intra-ocular lenses and dispensing.
