RVEEH Invites Everyone to 150 Years Celebrations

The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital will host a Community Street Party on Sunday 7 April, to celebrate its 150th year as Australia’s only specialist eye, ear, nose and throat hospital, and everyone is invited.

As part of the celebrations, there will be food, family entertainment, games, music, and guide dogs courtesy of Guide Dogs Victoria.

Guided tours will also be held throughout the day, including areas of the third oldest hospital in Melbourne not normally open to the public.

Ann Clark, Eye and Ear’s Chief Executive Officer, said the event is part of a year-long celebration of the hospital’s extensive history caring for Victorians.

Guided tours will also be held throughout the day, including areas of the third oldest hospital in Melbourne not normally open to the public

“The 150th anniversary is a significant milestone and an exciting chance to look back and celebrate our role in caring for the Victorian community.

“The role of the hospital and the services it provides has changed greatly over that time.

“While this anniversary gives us the opportunity to look back at our achievements, there is also an exciting future for the hospital. The recently announced redevelopment will help us to continue providing the best possible patient care for many decades to come,”
said Ms Clark.

The street party will run from 11am until 3pm, Sunday 7 April and will be held in Morrison Place, off Albert Street, East Melbourne. Entry is free on the day.
