The amended registration standard for CPD, which allows optometrists to attain 80 points over a two-year period and increases options to meet face to face requirements, is in place.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]
Optometrists with more than the minimum requirements in 2012 can count the additional points in 2013. For example, if 60 points were attained in 2012, 20 points are required for 2013 to cover the registration periods of 2012 and 2013. A further 60 points is required in 2014 to meet requirements for 2013 and 2014.
New graduates are no longer exempt from meeting CPD requirements in their first year of registration.
