The Specsavers Clinical Conference (SCC) is modelled on the UK-based Professional Advancement Committee (PAC) Conference, which has been hosted and run by Specsavers in the UK for the past 18 years.
It will offer clinical insights delivered by six highly respected eye care professionals. Professor Jonathan Crowstan will speak on Glaucoma, Professor David Mackey will speak on interpretation of DNA results when a patient says they are at risk of developing an eye disease, and Dr. Alex Harper will provide an update on the management of Age-related Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Retinopathy.
Dr. Alex Hunyor will speak on vitreoretinal surgery, Dr. Trevor Gray will review the latest advances in surgical vision correction and Associate Professor Anthony Hall will speak on assessment and management of acute anterior segment inflammation. A special guest speaker, yet to be announced, will provide an international review of optometry advancement and links to ophthalmology.
Up to 400 delegates are expected to attend the conference from both Specsavers and non-Specsavers practices. They will be invited to attend a Green Carpet Welcome Cocktail Evening at the Sydney Opera House on 15 June.
