Ms. Chambers, a mother of three, was awarded for her work in establishing Yin Health, a holistic practice that employs 22 people and integrates services from optometry, general medicine, beauty, massage, chiropractic adjustment, counseling, yoga and more.
Ms. Chambers told mivision she established the practice because healthcare services on the Sunshine Coast had been scattered. “I’ve always taken a holistic view of health – there’s more than one way to look at things. I wanted to bring services together so people can access them more easily.”
She set the practice up soon after giving birth to her second child. “It was hard work – I had no clients and a payroll to manage – so I really had to put myself out there.” Three years on, Yin Health in Kawana remains the only truly integrative health centre on the Coast for families where Eastern and Western Medicine meet.
Ms. Chambers said the future is all about innovation. “This isn’t about building an empire. I want to maintain the balance of business and family and constantly innovate so that Yin
Health can lead the way in healthcare on the Sunshine Coast.”
