Optometrists in Australia must complete a minimum of 80 points of CPD activities over two registration periods comprising 24 points (minimum) face-to-face.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]
Sixty of the 80 points must be in clinical CPD activities and no more than 20 of the 80 points can be obtained from activities provided by suppliers or manufacturers. Optometrists endorsed under section 94 of the National Law must have 40 of their 80 points related to endorsement for scheduled medicines.
Additionally, all registered optometrists must have completed, within the previous three registration periods, training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) through an approved training provider. Registration periods
run from 1 December to 30 November the following year.
