Members of the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) now have until 14 April to apply for Fellowship.
The Fellowship scheme, which allows members of the international contact lens community the chance to demonstrate high esteem in the field of contact lenses and the anterior eye, is open to full BCLA members of all disciplines – including those working within industry. Successful candidates are able to use the affix FBCLA.
Professor James Wolffsohn, BCLA Fellowship Consultant, said “the BCLA Fellowship scheme demonstrates to both patients and peers that they have taken their commitment to the field one step further.”
Since the scheme was launched in 2006, 165 members of the global contact lens community have become BCLA Fellows following viva voce assessment at the BCLA Clinical Conference and Exhibition – this year being held from 6-9 June at the ICC Birmingham (official hashtag #BCLA2014).
BCLA President, Andy Yorke, will present new BCLA Fellows with their certificates during the Gala and Awards Dinner at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, on the evening of Saturday 7 June. The winner of the inaugural BCLA Industry Award will also be announced at the dinner.
