Much loved eyewear brands ProDesign and Face A Face now fall under the banner of the Danish private equity fund, Erhvervsinvest following the merger of parent companies The ProDesign Investment A/S and Architectures SAS (founder of Face A Face).
The deal was signed on 12 June according to Lars Toftdahl of ProDesign.
According to Mr. Toftdahl Erhvervsinvest II K/S invested in ProDesign several years ago with the aim to organically expand the group and identify new opportunities.
He said the two groups will remain separate in their identities but able to share some resources as they grow within the market segment.
Ninety-five per cent of Prodesign International A/S sales and 85 per cent of Architectures SAS sales go to export markets, and are both showing strong growth, with group sales for 2014 anticipated to reach about 40 M€.
“Face A Face is undoubtedly one of the strongest independent designer brands in the world and will together with the product portfolio of ProDesign establish an even stronger position in the market. We look very much forward to benefit by the high experience each company contributes with,” said Dion Eriksen, CEO, ProDesign of International.
M. Pascal Jaulent, President of Architectures has stated, “The common design culture and international position of ProDesign and Face A Face is a great opportunity for the development of our brands. This strategic alliance will also reinforce our capacities to adapt to the future challenges of the optical market.”
