The Oscars of the French eyewear industry were presented with great fanfare at a Moulin Rouge inspired evening within one of Paris’ oldest theatres.
French-Argentinian artist Pablo Reinoso presided over this year’s panel of judges and was on hand to present each of the winners.
In his opening address he acknowledged the creative talent required to design award-winning eyewear.
“As an artist I am sensitive to the form and emotion that an object elicits, artistic or otherwise; and I did not expect to find so much sophistication in a pair of glasses, sophistication that impacts on visual health, design, fashion… and requires so much expertise and manipulation before reaching the optician.”
