SRC 2015 21–23 Feb

SRC is back in February 2015 with a diverse program spearheaded by two exciting keynote presenters.

Dr. Blair Lonsberry, a Professor and the Clinic Director for the Portland Vision Centre associated with Pacific University in Portland, Oregon, returns to SRC having presented in 2013. In addition to his optometry qualifications, Dr. Lonsberry completed a Masters in Education degree with an emphasis in Post-Secondary Education.

Dr. Chris Lievens is an Associate Professor and Chief of Staff at The Eye Centre, Southern College of Optometry, Memphis. He is also the co-creator of the funduscopic grading card and has a Master’s degree in Health Administration. Dr. Lievens said he is excited about the impact changing technology has on identifying pathology, treating conditions and streamlining the examination. “For any person that is intrigued by change, optometry is very exciting. Our approach to patients really does change each and every year,” he said.

There will also be a selection of great home grown speakers too, including Dr. Diane Ashworth, Australia’s first research participant to have a prototype bionic eye device implanted in her left eye; Prof. David Atchison, recipient of the 2014 H. Barry Collin Research Medal; Prof. Kristen Anderson, Southern College of Optometry’s Vice President for Institutional Advancement; and clinical scientist Dr. Lauren Ayton.

The SRC Trade Expo will take place on the Saturday and Sunday of the event. Visit www.optometrists.asn.au/VIC
