VMD Eyewear has been honoured by the ProVision independent optometry group with the 2014 Value Supply Partner Award.
Philip Crabtree, General Manager of VMD Australia said the award, after just two years as a ProVision key strategic partner, came as a complete surprise.
“We’ve only partnered with ProVision for two years so this award was unexpected. We’re really pleased to have received it because we strive to provide clients with great value-for-money product,” he said.
The Value Supply Partner Award was one of four awards announced at ProVision’s bi-annual conference in October. The other awards were Best Range (won by Essilor); Best Service (won by Rim Optics); Best Quality and Best Overall (both won by Maui Jim).
Mr. Crabtree said he believed VMD’s Bill Bass range was possibly the key driver for winning the award. “Bill Bass was launched 28 years ago and for the past 15 years, we’ve managed to hold our price – it’s proved to be a key price point that offers particular value for a scriptable sunglass.” Other collections sold by VMD include Dirty Dog, Jaguar, Sceats, R.M.Williams, Davidoff, Morgan and Joop!
He said partnering with ProVision has presented significant growth opportunities for VMD. “It’s not easy to become a key strategic partner – it’s an achievement in itself – and for us as a company it has given us access to over 400 good quality members. It’s also enabled us to work closely with ProVision head office and they’re a great team. We really appreciate the support that Steven Johnston (CEO) and Tony Jones (Merchandise Manager) have given us.”
