Alcon has reported that net sales for the US fiscal year 2014 totalled US$10.8 billion, a 3 per cent increase from the previous year. Surgical, ophthalmic pharmaceuticals and vision care sales grew by 5 per cent, 3 per cent and 2 per cent, respectively, for the full year.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]
Operating income increased 30 per cent to $1.6 billion in the fiscal year. In the fourth quarter 2014, operating income increased 112 per cent to $365 million from the fourth quarter 2013. Alcon’s net sales for the fourth quarter totalled $2.7 billion, a 2 per cent increase from the fourth quarter 2013.
Novartis net sales increased by 1 per cent to $58 billion in 2014. Fourth quarter net sales totalled $14.6 billion. Operating income grew 1 per cent to $10.7 billion, with $1.2 billion in operating income in the fourth quarter. Net income increased by 12 per cent to $10.3 billion in the fiscal year, with $1.5 billion in net income in the fourth quarter.
