Graduates of Luxottica’s induction program celebrated their achievements over two days in Melbourne during February.
The celebrations included a visit to OPSM eyehub in Hawthorn Victoria, a welcome dinner and, for Melbourne-based graduates, a OneSight school screening at North Dandenong primary school. Additionally the young optometrists attended educational sessions aimed at ensuring they are ‘business ready’.
Speaking of the new graduates joining the organisation, Peter Murphy, OPSM’s Professional Services Manager (VIC, Tas, SA) said, “Our new optometry graduates are the lifeblood of the profession. We are very excited to have graduates from all universities across Australia and New Zealand join us. They provide our customers with the latest knowledge of optometry and the very best in patient care.”
The aim of the induction program is to ensure graduating optometrists who have joined OPSM feel comfortable and well equipped to make a contribution from the start of their career. “Their career and their personal development is very important to us, and we will do everything we can to make sure they are set off on the right foot for an excellent start to a brilliant career with us,” said Mr. Murphy.
Luxottica employed more than 60 graduate optometrists across Australia and New Zealand this year.
