Major brands are committing to exhibiting at Silmo when it comes to Sydney in 2017.
Organised by Expertise Events, Silmo Sydney will include an Independent Retailers Conference run in partnership with the National Retailer’s Association (NRA).
Gary Fitz-Roy, Managing Director of Expertise Events said that along with Australian distributors of local and international eyewear brands, international brands not currently represented in Australia may have a presence at the exhibition.
Mr. Fitz-Roy said education sessions would be practical and business-based. “Our program will run on the show floor and be made up of small concise sessions and visitors will have the opportunity to sit one on one with NRA specialists to discuss specifics at our one on one sessions.” He said he hadn’t ruled out including clinical education sessions as well.
Silmo started its global extension in 2014 with the establishment of an Istanbul fair. Discussions started in October 2015 to expand reach into Australasia. Silmo Paris will be involved in the implementation of the strategic plan, providing marketing and feature concepts, which will be tailored by Expertise Events to meet the needs of the local market.
SILMO Sydney will run March 9–11 2017 at the new International Convention Centre, Darling Harbour.
