Paragon Vision Sciences and Contact Lens Centre Australia will host a free live webinar series, over three months, focussed on orthokeratology, commencing on 22 June.
The webinars will be presented by experts in their field: Dr. Maria Liu Director of Myopia Control Clinic at UC Berkeley; Ken Kopp, Director Clinical and Professional Services at Paragon Vision Sciences; and Randy Kojima, Research Scientist and Clinical Instructor at Pacific College Of Optometry in Canada.

Webinar 1: Global Myopia Management: The Consequences of Non-Treatment

As well as the three webinars there is a workshop on the day before the Orthokeratology Society Congress in September
Dr. Maria Liu will discuss myopia as a global epidemic, the increasing prevalence of high myopia and its associated complications that can lead to irreversible vision loss.
DR. Liu will explore the underlying changes of choroidal and scleral structures as well as the shape changes related to the progression of myopia. A review of the complex genetic and environmental interactions in myopia etiology will be followed by a brief update on evidence-based management options for myopia retardation.
Webinar 2: Maximise your Ortho-K Practice

Ken Kopp will provide an overview of some tested and proven orthokeratology design pearls, including candidate evaluation and lens design. Advanced fitting philosophies will also be discussed
Webinar 3: Utilising Topography To Achieve Optimal Fitting Success
Wednesday, 24 August, 8:00am AEST
Randy Kojima will focus on pre-topography considerations that help to choose the correct initial lens and avoid patients that may be contra-indicated for overnight.
The important post wear subtractive maps will be discussed in detail to better understand when changes may be necessary to optimise lens wear. Additionally he will review the capture process and optimal map selection procedures.
