The 12th Congress of the Orthokeratology Society of Oceania (OSO) and fifth Congress of the International Academy of Orthokeratology (IAO) will take place in Australia at Surfers Paradise this September.
The Congress has attracted speakers from around the world including Dr. Jacinto Santodomingo from Spain who will speak on long term myopia control with orthoK, Dr. Nitesh Barot from the UK who will speak on high myopia, and Dr. Rob Gerowitz from the US who will speak on the important topic of explaining myopic control options to patients.
Speakers from Australia include John Mountford who will speak on astigmatism and orthoK – what is and isn’t possible – and Dr. Francois Rateau who will present on experience from a long term myopia control clinic. A ‘beginner’s’ program will also run, covering topics of basic topography, lens design and incorporating orthoK in practice. OSO will be opened by the Society’s President Gavin Boneham and the IAO president’s address will be given by Cary Herzberg.

The registration fee for OSO members is AU$910 and $990 for non-members. Early bird registration fees are available for the first 100 people who register before 22 July ($770 – members; $850 non-members). A special accommodation rate has been negotiated with the hotel.
