The Australian College of Optometry (ACO) has appointed a new Executive Committee for 2016/17 comprising:
• President – Professor Konrad Pesudovs
• Vice-President – Professor Alex Gentle
• Honorary Treasurer – Mark O’Sullivan
• One other member of Council – Mitchell Anjou AM
• Chief Executive Officer – Maureen O’Keefe
Professor Alex Gentle was also appointed to the position of Chair of the National Vision Research Institute (NVRI) Board of Administration, Sarah Byrne was appointed as Chair of the Human Research Ethics Committee and Mark O’Sullivan was appointed Chair of the Finance and Risk Committee. Mitchell Anjou AM has joined the Finance & Risk Committee as the additional Council representative.
In a letter to ACO and NVRI members, Professor Konrad Pesudovs, who has been the Foundation Professor of Optometry and Vision Science at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia since 2009, said, “I am honored to accept the position of ACO President and am very much looking forward to working with the other members of the Council, with the CEO and with her Executive Management Team in further developing and implementing the ACO’s strategic plan for 2016 and beyond.”
