France Medical to Represent CSO

Italian ophthalmic equipment company Costruzione Strumenti Oftalmici (CSO) has appointed France Medical as its distributor in Australia and New Zealand.

CSO ophthalmic equipment includes top-end slit lamps, 3D scheimpflug camera, non-mydriatic retinal camera, topographers and more. According to France Medical, one of the company’s best-selling products is the Antares, a device that combines tear film analysis to check the Tear Break-Up Time, infrared meibography to diagnose the health of meibomian glands and contact lens fitting via a topographer using a placido disk.

Aurelien Coursodon, managing director of France Medical, said CSO products complement the E-Eye, a device his company has built its name on since its establishment in Australia five years ago. E-Eye was developed by French IRPL manufacturer E-Swin to manage dry eye. The E-Eye stimulates the creation of neurotransmitters by the nerve connected to the meibomian glands. The neurotransmitters released are able to interact with the meibomian glands, stimulating the secretion and contraction of the glands, which then return to their normal function, relieving eyes from dryness.
