For the first time, Rodenstock has been contracted as a supplier to the Queensland Spectacle Supply Scheme (SSS), which provides eligible Queensland residents (adults and children) with a pair of basic prescription spectacles, once every two years. Rodenstock joins existing supplier Essilor Australia.
Each company is offering its own frame range for the scheme, comprising TD2 hard coating as standard on all lenses. Additionally, Essilor is offering polycarbonate lenses as standard on all children’s frames, or for clients up to 12 years of age.
In a statement, Scott Dunn, Service Manager for the Spectacle Supply Scheme & Specialised Services said, “I would like to point out that the choice of companies is completely in the hands of the dispensing agents themselves. You can choose to go with one company, or both, and display both ranges of frames. The current SSS process will remain as it is, regardless of which option you choose. However, the scheme will not play a part in your decision.”
He said Rodenstock was in the process of putting in place its agency network prior to commencing its supply to the scheme.
