High performers from Eyecare Plus brainstormed big ideas to transform or enhance practices at the group’s 2017 High Performance Summit in Queenstown.
The delegates, who came from 12 practices around Australia, were asked to prepare a three-minute pitch, ‘Shark Tank’ style, on topics as diverse as dry eye, Optos, Hoya MyEyes, patient eye condition videos, staff incentives, style shows, myopia control and pre-recall marketing. Colleagues rated each presentation on its relevance and the best ideas were developed collaboratively for sharing at member Business Strategy Workshops throughout this month (May).
The Summit also included goal setting for practices, staff and patients, as well as personal goal setting exercises.
Speaking of the shark tank exercise, SooJin Nam from Sydney said, “The focus on clinical excellence by participants reassures me that I am part of a group that highly values eye care for patients.”
The Summit confirmed the values of Eyecare Plus
Michael Hare from Southport on the Gold Coast attended the Summit and said it was, “just a brilliant concept… 12 aspiring, non-competitive, enterprising, motivated, independent optometrists sharing clever and innovative best practice ideas with their peers… a sure way for 160 other like-minded independent optometrists to benefit from this think tank.”
Eyecare Plus optometrist Bill Robertson from Alice Springs said the Summit, and other meetings like it, confirmed the benefit of Eyecare Plus membership with exclusive territories, “We got a lot from the weekend. There was affirmation of many good things we already do (or used to do!) plus exposure to excellent ideas from colleagues that we want to take on board, modify and put into practice.
“The Summit confirmed the values of Eyecare Plus, where sharing with like-minded members and supportive suppliers without territorial threat can bring better outcomes for all.”
