WAVE17, Perth 12–13 August

Wave 2017 is just around the corner, promising a host of educational opportunities for the entire practice.

New to the program this year is a practice staff professional education program that will provide practical take home messages for practice and business success. Hosted by OWA President Darrell Baker, it will include presentations by Nicole Peaper, Christine Baker, Damon Ezekiel, Paul McKinley, Simon Hanna and Margarida Faustino. Topics range from ‘how to click with people’ through to the importance of contact lenses, marketing and social media and how to differentiate and customise your practice.

The main education program for optometrists will be presented by experts in optometry and ophthalmology among them Dr. Vignesh Raja, Dr. Ian Chan, Andrew Hogan and Adrian Bell. New to the WAVE17 podium will be ophthalmologists Dr. Chandra Balara, Dr. Anthony Clark and optometrists Amira Howari, Mark Koszek and Rebecca Li.

WAVE17’s Saturday program will feature two streams with clinical workshops and lectures running concurrently. On Sunday a back to back series of lectures will provide updates on topics that range from uveitis to laser assisted corneal surgery, pterygium and orthokeratology.

The WAVE17 program includes the much loved Saturday Evening Sundowner in the Matisse Beach Club next door to the Rendezvous Hotel, providing the perfect opportunity to relax, unwind and socialise with colleagues.

Early career optometrists are able to attend a dedicated afternoon lecture series on Friday 11 August.
