Johnson and Johnson Vision (J&JV) will host a series of Symposia on the eastern seaboard to provide detailed information about its presbyopia correcting extended range of vision intraocular lens – the Tecnis Symfony.
Presentations will be delivered by J&JV Director of Research and Development Dr. Patricia Piers PhD, and cataract and refractive surgeon Dr. Daniel Chang from Bakersfield California.
Dr. Chang has performed thousands of successful LASIK, PRK, cataract, and corneal procedures. He is Partner at Empire Eye and Laser Center and Medical Director of Empire Surgery Center in Bakersfield, and a volunteer surgeon, founding member, and President of a non-profit clinic that provides medical and surgical care to uninsured and underinsured people in Central California. As well as authoring numerous articles and publications on lasers, refractive surgery, and advanced intraocular lenses, he has been principal investigator on dozens of Phase III and Phase IV U.S. FDA clinical trials, including the PMA study for the Tecnis Multifocal Low-Add IOLs and the Tecnis Symfony IOL. He lectures regularly locally and internationally, and trains and advises other surgeons from the around the world on vision correction technology.
Dr. Piers and Dr. Chang will be joined by cataract surgeon and Director of Queensland Eye Hospital Dr. Michael Forrest at the Sydney event; by Dr. Dean Corbett from Auckland Eye at the Brisbane event and Dr Dan Black from Sunshine Eye Clinic in Queensland at the Melbourne event.
