‘Who Sky 2017’ Optometry South Australia’s (O SA) annual Blue Sky Congress, promises to deliver inspiring, entertaining professional education for optometrists and optical dispensers.
The primary focus of this year’s Dr. Who-themed conference is passion, and according to organiser and O SA’s CEO Libby Boschen, “We are going to remind ourselves why we love the profession we have chosen and take the time to fan the flames, ensuring that we leave with renewed vigour and a fire in our bellies to kick some serious goals back in our practice”.
The optometry education programme will be led by the Doctor (Brad Sutton from the U.S.) and supported by a host of talent including Professor Charles McGhee (from New Zealand), A/Prof. Celia Chen and Dr. Edward Greenrod.
Now in its fourth year, the program for optical dispensers has been developed in collaboration with the Australian Dispensing Optician’s Association by a team of experienced dispensers, practice managers and educators. The program will comprise two carefully crafted levels: one for those with experience and another for new starters just beginning their dispensing career. Interactive lectures presented by the likes of Keleigh Walsh, Steve Daras and Laura Boland, will be supported by hands-on practical work and a trade-show exhibiting diagnostic equipment, frames, lenses, optical supplies and business support.
Blue Sky Congress runs from 10 – 11 November in the spectacular Adelaide Hills. Visit www.optometry.org.au/SA
