ASX listed 1ST Group has signed an agreement with a major contact lens company to promote its products through selected optometry customers on MyHealth1st.com.au.
Over 1,200 independent optometry practices have signed up to use the MyHealth1st optometry appointments directory on a subscription basis. As well as taking appointments, they are increasingly using the platform to invite patient feedback and send out smart digital recall notices.
Klaus Bartosch, 1ST Group’s managing director and cofounder, said the advertising campaign, which he expects to be the first of many, would be sent to patients with an appointment, and would prompt them to ask their optometrists about contact lenses, and include educational content.
“This is a highly effective way to engage with patients when they are thinking about their eye health and educate them about options for vision correction,” said Mr. Bartosch. “It will be subtle, but very targeted, and of great value to participating practices.
It will help reduce no-shows, increase sales for the optometry business and reduce their current costs of reminders
“It will help reduce no-shows, increase sales for the optometry business and reduce their current costs of reminders, as well as provide valuable post-appointment feedback from patients about the overall experience.
“The optometrist will receive each of their patients’ survey responses in full, which will provide valuable insights for practice performance. The contact lens company advertising with us will receive generic deidentified survey results.”
Phase 1 of the campaign will run from 1 November to 31 December 2017 to an initial audience selected from 10-15 per cent of optometry practices using the MyHealth1st platform.
