Mivision has expanded its commitment to Continued Professional Development (CPD) for optometrists, launching videoed CPD events, complete with interactive multiple choice questions, via the education portal on its website, mivision.com.au.
Publisher Todd Tai said videoed CPD events would provide an exceptional opportunity for optometrists to acquire learning from experts in the field and claim their required CPD points.
Videoed CPD is a natural evolution of the Journal’s well established CPD service, which is now one of the most popular delivery mechanisms for optometry education in Australia and New Zealand.
“Contact lens, drug and equipment companies that host CPD events invest heavily in bringing experts from Australia and around the world to speak at CPD events and conferences,” said Mr. Tai.
“It’s understandable that those speakers can’t reach every optometrist or indeed that optometrists can’t make it to every event, especially those living outside metro centres.
“By videoing these events and offering them to all optometrists online, we are ensuring key messages are heard by a far broader audience and we’re enabling optometrists to acquire the very latest information about research, new products and treatments available to correct vision and treat eye disease.”
The first two video CPD events are now available to view and complete online at mivision.com.au/cpdmodules:
• Building Your Practice with New Technologies (2M CPD in Australia and 1.5G CPD New Zealand)
• CooperVision MyDay toric contact lenses (2M CPD in Australia and 0.5G CPD in New Zealand)
