The Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists (ACBO) has become a distributor of Eyecarrot’s Binovi Platform. The cloud-based software system allows optometrists and vision therapists to monitor and log a patient’s compliance with prescribed vision therapy protocols in a vision therapy treatment program.
It also provides clear instructional sets using HD video and documents so patients and parents can be sure they are completing prescribed vision therapy activities correctly. The system facilitates communication between patients and parents with their optometrist or vision therapist by messaging any queries they have about their assigned vision therapy activities.
Patient compliance with a prescribed treatment program is often a leading problem in the efficacy of any health care management program that requires the patient to adhere to their treatment protocol outside the practice, whether it be glaucoma medications or in this case vision therapy. ACBO believes the Binovi platform is a solid step forward in helping raise compliance and efficacy for patients treating diagnosed vision conditions such as convergence insufficiency, accommodation dysfunction, amblyopia, strabismus, eye movements problems, delays in visual perceptual processing development or visual-motor development.
The Binovi Platform comprises Binovi Pro: the control centre which allows clinicians to manage many aspects of their vision therapy practice; and Binovi Coach: the patient-interfacing app which gives patients access to custom home therapy plans created by their optometrist, on their mobile app anywhere, anytime.
