Global Survey to Reduce Confusion Over Lens Measurement

Eye health professionals from around the world, who inspect and measure completed spectacles and finished lenses, are being asked to participate in a global online survey. Results from the brief survey will contribute to a new standard that will be more practical for manufacturing and supply chains.

Annette Hosken, Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, Save Sight Institute said, “Methods for lens measurement vary internationally, often leading to different pass/ fail criteria, creating confusion and barriers to trade. We’d like as many responses to this survey from Australia as possible – it is anonymous, there are no right or wrong answers, and it is your chance to have your say about lens tolerances and more.”

The project is supported by the Australian Standards committee for spectacle frames and lenses (MS-024).
