Overview
The University of New South Wales School of Vision Science (UNSW SOVS) has launched the world’s first university accredited Graduate Certificate in Myopia Management. The program is designed to provide registered optometrists, in Australia and internationally, with the advanced knowledge and clinical experience necessary to prescribe evidence-based treatment for the management of myopia.
The Australian designed program incorporates diverse and flexible content delivery, with self-paced online distance education modules (interactive online webinars, discussion groups, lecture recordings and exercises), supported by clinical placements at the UNSW Optometry Clinic for hands on clinical skill development and evaluation.

Based on current and future evidence-based standards of myopia treatment and management, applied to our Australian context, it will be delivered by an award winning local and international teaching team.
Units of Credit
24 units of credit are required for completion of the Graduate Certificate in Myopia Management.
Length of Study
The program is designed to be completed over 12 months with a maximum enrolment time of 36 months.
Entry Requirements
Admission is limited to students with a minimum of a three-year undergraduate degree in optometry with a credit average. Upon completion, graduates will have advanced disciplinary knowledge and skills that will allow them to offer evidence-based management of myopia to their patients.
