Marchon Eyewear has showcased its extensive range of high profile fashion brands at an exclusive cocktail party for optometrists at Beta Bar in Sydney’s central business district.
The 2019 collections for Calvin Klein 205W39NYC, Longchamp, Marni, Chloé, Lacoste, and Salvatore Ferragamo were among the frames that were available for guests to explore as runway videos were projected onto the rustic brick back wall of the bar.
The opportunity to present brands like Calvin Klein 205W39NYC and Marni was very exciting for us and for our guests who were interested in the stories behind the brands
Maren Carson, head of marketing at VSP Australia, said the event was an opportunity to meet clients socially and celebrate the brands in a low pressure environment.
“We held a similar event in Perth just ahead of Optometry Western Australia’s WAVE conference and the feedback was so positive that we decided to do the same in Sydney. Next year we have plans to run similar events in Melbourne to launch our March collections and Brisbane to launch the October collections.”
She said some guests were surprised to see the very fashion forward collections within the VSP range. “There has been a perception that we only represent mainstream brands, so the opportunity to present brands like Calvin Klein 205W39NYC and Marni was very exciting for us and for our guests who were interested in the stories behind the brands.
“Customers were also pleased to see Longchamp eyewear on display, which we haven’t represented for some time. We’re supporting this brand, which is surprisingly accessible, with consumer advertising in Vogue magazine,” she said adding, “it’s great to be injecting some excitement back into the independent eyewear industry.”
