Optometry Western Australia’s annual conference, WAVE will take place at the heritage listed Fremantle Esplanade Hotel this year.
A raft of experts have committed to speak at this boutique conference, including Dr Graham Lakkis who will present on optical coherence tomography angiography and innovative glaucoma treatments, Dr Alex Hui on cornea and conjunctiva infections, and Professor Nathan Efron on the expanding role of optometrists in diabetes management as well as contact lens aftercare. Stephen Leslie will speak on adult binocular vision problems, Tim Thurn on blue light and Simon Hanna from Optometry Australia will provide an insight into optometry’s responsibilities when it comes to billing and advertising. A dedicated lecture series will take place on Sunday morning for optical dispensers and a lecture series will be held for early career optometrists.
