The Australia Day Honours 2019 recognise the outstanding achievements and service of members of the Australian community at a national level. This year, three eye health professionals were awarded an Order of Australia for their varying service to the field of eye health.

Mivision congratulates the following 2019 Recipients of the Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia:

Professor Robert Cornelis Augusteyn, Ivanhoe VIC, for his significant service to vision science and eye health research,

Dr Craig Edgar Donaldson, Lindfield NSW, for his significant service to medicine in the field of ophthalmology, and to professional eye heath bodies,

Tim McKinnon, Moss Vale NSW for his significant service to his local community and to international health programs, and

Lynette Noelle Grubwinkler, QLD, for her significant service to international eye health initiatives as a clinical consultant, and to ophthalmic nursing.

Their recognition is a reminder of the important work being undertaken to improve the overall quality of eye health in Australia and around the world.
